Gotta go see, it's been 2 yrs! Grand Central Terminal has been transformed into a station again, basically. New lowest level (for LIRR) has trains which pass through. Outside of Amtrak trains 71-91, all train lines started or terminated there, hence the name. *Grand Central Madison* [Station]; link is to art installations there.

Every statement, every action, every so-called defense of "free speech" is another ham-fisted Muskian attempt to normalize extremism and undermine democratic governance. The man is a Nazi in all but name, a walking, talking, tweeting, sieg-heiling argument against his own master race musings. But he is not alone. Peter Thiel may not stand beside Musk, but he stands aligned, financing a political machine intended to entrench corporate rule and feed humanity into the meat grinder. Les professionnels et le public sont encore majoritairement sur les GAFAM et notre structure ne pourra pas migrer entièrement sans un intérêt renforcé pour le Fediverse de ces acteurs.

Text from article(edited for length): 18F did two things, both for agencies that hired them to help with projects: it built software and it taught agencies how to hire & oversee vendors to build software. The former raised the bar by showing agencies what “good” looks like, the latter allowed those practices to expand sustainably. ...That was literally unique, and now it’s gone... Once, I was part of a team of 4 people at 18F that saved the Dept of Defense $500 million with a single, 3-day project. 18F projects saved many millions of dollars as a matter of course, while delivering better results for Americans. Another time I was part of a two-person team... that partnered with a court... to help them build, from scratch, an open source case management system to drive the operations of the entire court. The whole thing cost them... vastly less than they’d been spending on their old system, and today their cost of operating it is a rounding error compared to their old infrastructure costs. All the work 18F did for all their agency partners was open source. Public money should produce public software, for public inspection. In short, 18F works just how Musk and team pretend that they want government to work. But when his team found it, they destroyed it. 18F’s work is evidence that government works well, which undermines their message that it doesn’t. 18F’s parent agency, the U.S. General Services Administration, turns a profit as an agency. So it has to be destroyed too.

@briankrebs the logging industry is happy but will lumber prices drop enough to spur more construction? I think the savings will get gobbled up by all the middlemen...trump is going to try his agenda for a few quarters and then we will see what happens = it is all about the economy #public sentiment

Forcing the administration to defend its actions, on the record and in public, is important. The mere fact of litigating can change implementation of policy to improve its application to those affected. Even a loss can advance awareness about oppressive steps being taken by the administration. And, multiple strategies might be taken to challenge certain actions, some of which will be more successful than others. From a litigation perspective, in other words, not suing is sometimes “obeying in advance.” Actions need to be challenged. If a key aspect of what President Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and others are doing right now is seeing what they can get away with — and what they can convince people that they can do — then a key part of pushing back against that needs to be challenging everything that can be challenged. In short: Force them to work for it.
