Hallo meine geliebten und nicht geliebten Lebensformen,
Ich hab heute ein bißchen Zeit mit den Turmfalken verbracht, die neben meiner Unterkunft brüten und heftigst am Balzen waren.
Abends hab ich dann diesen Turmfalken an anderer Stelle getroffen. Er lies sich sehr lange beobachten und ist erst nach 10 Minuten weiter geflogen.
Apropos fliegen, solidarische Grüße an die streikenden Kolleg:innen am Münchner Flughafen. Ich hattte gehofft ich dürfte länger hier bleiben, aber es verlängert sich nur die Reisezeit über Frankfurt mit dem Zug nach München. Kein Spaß mit 2 Koffern, 2 Kamerarucksäcken und zwei Laptops. Aber euer Streik ist wichtig und richtig, ihr sorgt jeden Tag dafür, dass alles klappt. Da müssen dann auch Arbeitsbedingungen und Bezahlung stimmen.
Tiere sind Freunde und kein Essen oder eine Plage.
Bleibt gesund, glücklich und verliebt.
Der schlimmste Seelenschmerz ist das Fernweh.

I spent some time today with the kestrels nesting next to my accommodation and they were busy mating.
In the evening I met this kestrel elsewhere. He kept an eye on me for a very long time and only flew on after 10 minutes.
Speaking of flying, solidarity greetings to the striking colleagues at Munich airport. I had hoped I would be able to stay here longer, but it only extends the journey time via Frankfurt by train to Munich. No fun with 2 suitcases, 2 camera backpacks and two laptops. But your strike is important and right, you make sure that everything runs smoothly every day. Working conditions and pay have to be right too.
Animals are friends, not food or a nuisance.
Stay healthy, happy and in love.

Speaking of #Rewilding, some new signs went up at nearby #CaliforniaFields in Southern #Maine! Looks like the #MaineDepartmentOfInlandFisheries discovered some #EndangeredSpecies there, and put the pressure on #BlueTriton / #PolandSprings / #BigWater -- who had planted a bunch of pine trees in the field (to hide the wells that they claim are "springs). But now they have to take them down and restore the grasslands! (And it's full of #Milkweed which the #MonarchButterflies love!)

Photo, voiture et traumatisme du vivant [Photography, car and animals with ptsd, English version below]
J'ai pris cette photo en étant en voiture (sur une petite route, je me suis arrêté en faisant attention) et je me faisais la remarque que c'était beaucoup plus facile d'approcher certains oiseaux dans un véhicule. Mais alors beaucoup plus facile.
C'est terrible de se dire que les oiseaux (et pas mal d'animaux en fait) associent automatiquement la forme humaine à un danger et pas d'autres formes comme les voitures même si on est dedans.
Nous (les humains et nos dérangements, nos chasses et nos destructions d'habitat) avons vraiment traumatisé tout une partie du vivant. Pas bravo.

I took this photo in my car (on a small road, I stopped carefully) and I was thinking how much easier it was to get close to certain birds in a vehicle. Much easier.
It's terrible to think that birds (and quite a few animals, in fact) automatically associate the human shape with danger and not other shape like cars, even if you're in them.
We (humans and our disturbances, hunting and destruction of habitat) have really traumatised a whole section of the living world. Not congrats.

J'ai enfin réussi à prendre la jolie faucon crécerelle qui a élu domicile à la ferme-refuge avec son monsieur. Je les voit régulièrement chasser dans les herbages plein de petits mammifères. Ce matin, elle était à portée d'objectif!

Now there's something to eat 
What luck: there was a falcon's nest behind our vacation house for a few days. Thanks to the camouflage I was able to take some good pictures.
The kestrel (Falco tinnunculus) grows up to 37 cm tall and has a wingspan of up to 80 cm. It feeds mainly on small rodents. Like all falcons, the kestrel does not build its own nest.

Was ein Glück: hinter unserer Ferienhütte war für ein paar Tage ein Falkennest. Dank Tarnkleidung konnte ich ein paar gute Fotos machen.
Der Turmfalke (Falco tinnunculus) wird bis zu 37 cm groß und bekommt eine Spannweite von bis zu 80 cm. Er ernährt sich vorallem von kleinen Nagetieren. Wie alle Falken baut der Turmfalke keinen eigenes Nest. 
2007 war der Turmfalke in Deutschland Vogel des Jahres.

The common kestrel is one of my favorite birds. Its like you pour cuteness and killing-machine into a mixer.
This here is a female, probably a bird born this year.
Well I’m still finishing the artwork but I’m hoping to have prints available by mid-end November.
This will be one of them and each print of this artwork will be hand finished (all going to plan!)
I draw my grandmother a birthday card with a different bird every year. Chose an American Kestrel this year, and I think it turned out pretty nice.
Lovely weather today so went for a #wander along the #GlamorganHeritageCoast from #NashPoint to #CwmNash and back. Great views, a hunting #Kestrel and some noisy #Gulls thinking about making an early claim for this years nesting spot.
