To retake Kursk, Russia launched a Divisional assault on multiple axes.

The planning time required to launch something this size with any hope of success is not short. To plan and launch something like this in a week would be unthinkably fast. Russia launched this within 24 hours of Ukraine having their intelligence cut off.
