I really like how this picture came out. This great egret was so bright in the sunlight.

A large white bird stands on the an dark wooden fence post, it's long yellow beak, bright yellow eye, and black legs bright against the pale tan and green of the sage brush and trees in the background. The fence is old, one post leaning, with rusted barb wire strands wrapped around the square posts, and the cross post faded grey from exposure to the desert sun.

Photography. A color photo of a great egret during the breeding season. The slender, white bird is relatively large, has long legs and an elegant shape. The short, strong beak is yellow. What is special about the photo, however, is the fact that it is in courtship display, bending its long neck in an S-shape and erecting its fine feathers on its back and moving back and forth. Lets’s talk about the breeding plumage of the great egret. (alba)

It not only grows the well known down-like pinnaceous feathers. But there are other changes too. The beak ist turning black (normally it is yellow with a small black tip) the skin patsch behind the beak ist turning green.
The legs turn brighter.

So this white birds show a lot of color.
