Giant are thriving in the UK. The wet climate is good for them and they grow at similar rates to their native California. However, they do not reproduce.

Redwoods were originally imported to the UK by the Victorians as horticultural status symbols. Given how they tower over other tree species commonly planted in the British Isles, it's not hard to see their appeal.
