Daniel Wentsch<p>I like <a href="https://freiburg.social/tags/Heptabase" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Heptabase</span></a> for many of its features, but organizing notes is not one of them. I'm really curious how people organize their Heptabase. Tabs and tab groups feel cumbersome to me. Tags require a lot of top-down manual effort.</p><p>As much as I love working on boards to make sense of things this lack of intuitive organization makes me uncomfortable. It even prevents me from using Heptabase as a <a href="https://freiburg.social/tags/pkm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pkm</span></a> system, so I just link to certain boards from elsewhere.</p>
Mark McElroy<p>My problem, you see, is that I think like <a href="https://pkm.social/tags/Logseq" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Logseq</span></a>, work like <a href="https://pkm.social/tags/Obsidian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Obsidian</span></a>, and organize like <a href="https://pkm.social/tags/Heptabase" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Heptabase</span></a>.</p><p><a href="https://pkm.social/tags/PKM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PKM</span></a></p>
Daniel Wentsch<p>I think I need Notes-App-Switchers Anonymous. Also: <a href="https://freiburg.social/tags/Heptabase" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Heptabase</span></a> is awaesome 😍<a href="https://freiburg.social/tags/pkm" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pkm</span></a></p>
Mark McElroy<p>I want fewer app feature <a href="https://pkm.social/tags/PKM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PKM</span></a> videos and more “I made this wonderful thing people care about using a PKM-based workflow and here's how I did it, step by step" videos. </p><p><a href="https://pkm.social/tags/Obsidian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Obsidian</span></a> <a href="https://pkm.social/tags/ObsidianMD" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ObsidianMD</span></a> <a href="https://pkm.social/tags/Logseq" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Logseq</span></a> <a href="https://pkm.social/tags/Tana" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Tana</span></a> <a href="https://pkm.social/tags/Heptabase" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Heptabase</span></a></p>
Mark McElroy<p>Still fiddling with <a href="https://pkm.social/tags/Heptabase" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Heptabase</span></a>, which went 1.0 today. It’s expensive, VC-funded, with your content in the cloud — in other words, it’s sort of the anti-<a href="https://pkm.social/tags/Obsidian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Obsidian</span></a>.</p><p>What I do like so far? This little video. There is no yammering narration. Instead, it’s just a screen capture of a Heptabase user slowly and patiently working atomizing and arranging his or her notes from a book. </p><p>I’d love to see more videos like these for more of our <a href="https://pkm.social/tags/PKM" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PKM</span></a> tools: just looking over the shoulder of a user.</p>
