My REAL Imaginary Friend
Some say that friends must be actual physical beings to count as REAL. Why, I ask? I have REAL imaginary friends who are quite lovely and can be most helpful in a pinch. When I'm having a really bad day, need a bit of advice, or if I'm just feeling blue, my REAL imaginary friends are exactly the ones I want around for comfort. No complaining or whining about THEIR troubles. No attention sucking smart phones to distract them from listening to you. And, the best part is, you can call up the exact friend for listening or guidance when needed, instantly!

Sunset View Point The Roussanou Monastery Meteora Greece At the end of the evening tour, we went to the best viewpoint on the rocks to watch the sun setting behind the mountain range of Pindos or according to Greek mythology, we saw the god Helios on his fiery chariot taking his horses to rest. My shots of the evening of changing light painting the landscape in shifting hues of rose and orange sunset at Meteora was a once-in-a-life-time experience. A perfect end of the day with a stunning sunset at Psaropetra sunset view point in Meteora. The Roussanou Monastery, perched on one of the stunning rock pillars of Meteora in Greece, is a breathtaking testament to the harmonious blend of natural beauty and human ingenuity. Established in the 16th century and dedicated to Saint Barbara, this monastery is one of the six active monasteries in the Meteora complex. Its strategic position atop a narrow rock pinnacle offers not only a serene retreat for its nuns but also panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, filled with rugged cliffs and verdant valleys. Monsters have babies too.
Baby monsters are even harder to find than the elusive "baby" pigeon. Very few folks can say that they've seen them, let alone created their portraits. I have been lucky. As you might imagine, monster parents can be a bit protective. Mothers in particular. They consider us (humans) more than a bit strange and potentially dangerous. It took most of my free time, lots of monster "treats" and carefully followed Monster Etiquette to befriend just a few of them. Even then, I felt a bit nervous and on edge as I made sketches of their most beloved offspring. It is always a good idea to remind oneself that monsters are ultimately unpredictable creatures, and should be given proper respect at all times.

One teeny, solitary baby stands precariously on Moms scaly leg.

Against a brilliant blue sky, with just a hint of mountains in the distance, a teeny baby monster trembles with uncertainty on its mothers scaly leg, grasping her long sharp claw for balance. It nervously stares (at me) with large bulging eyes, while the other hand is clamped firmly in its mouth. Bright scales of chartreuse, vivid orange and crimson red cover the body of this wee creature, accompanied by slender candy-cane-like curved horns atop its bald green head.
