Analysis of these kinds of systems (from the "Rosenthal" of Corsi Rosenthal). These filters have been exceptionally useful both for wildfires (removing toxic smoke and particulates after the recent LA wildfires), as well as plague-of-the-day (COVID-19, influenza, RSV, threat of bird flu now here...). Also just generally good to keep the air pollution in your house to a minimum!

Todo for this week: build another HEPA (Corsi Rosenthal) fan system using PC fans. Even though the throughput is about 1/3 less than a box fan, the sound levels enable this system to run 24/7 if needed without complaints from family, which is a HUGE plus. #CorsiRosenthalBox #AQI #health

My #airQuality monitor is finlazed with a temperature and humidity sensor. You can see on the graph when I was soldering. I'm glad I'm not doing that activity very often!
I am trying to categorize the sensor readings into ranges: perfect, healthy, average, bad, and terrible. However, I am having difficulty determining the ranges and a formula to categorize them using a single sensor.

As is usual in the mornings now, air quality is pretty crappy. You do you, but it's been N95 for me all week when outside. I pull up Purpleair.com to see how it looks. Dog walked, I wore an N95 (nasty out there). My son would not wear an N95, and he REALLY felt it. (lagging big time up the hill). Sucking smoke is not good for your health, folks. Suck it up and wear the N95

Air quality specifically in the #EatonFire area - Altadena, La Canada Flintridge, and Pasadena is 200+ (!!). Note all the PurpleAir sensors which either were destroyed in the fire or where Internet/power does not exist. (satellite images and on-the-ground photos indicate firestorm incinerated those neighborhoods

if you're in any of the areas with red/orange/purple, it's an N95 day (and Corsi Rosenthal/HEPA filter running full if you're indoors). Note that this smoke is going to be far more hazardous to your health than the already hazardous smoke you'd get from a wildfire, due to incinerated cars, couches, plastic, asbestos, rubber, etc. - protect your health!
