Reading for the fifth time (two in Italian, and three in English) The Machine Stops, by E.M. Forster.

I can’t believe this sci-fi short story got written in 1909… Forster was a real visionary.

Mast for iOS is just SO good *_* A few bugs here and there (and no notifications?), but it's very customizable and the UI looks real nice.

If you give it a try, make sure to disable the confetti animation on every interaction. :D That's a bit too much haha

@gaeel Gotcha! I think that if you're able to surface what really matters, your "behind the scenes" approach will work! :)

@gaeel I now heavily track stuff when I want to establish a new routine, change my behavior, or accomplish a measurable goal. The remaining day-to-day tracking is intentional, manual, with a purpose. And it doesn't get too granular than 30 minutes.

I like to think I'm celebrating progression, rather than finding order in chaos! :)

@gaeel Very interesting! A few years ago I got obsessed (and obsessive) about this. I was tracking *everything*. Water intake, digital tasks, mood... Everything. I quit after realizing I couldn't find a way to put all that data to work.

@brennan that's a lot of good stuff! It's gonna take a me a bit to go through everything! :D

I feel like I want to make a wiki of absolutely everything I know, and then eventually it would just become this living library of my knowledge set, with some sort of filter for deadends to further explore and some way to string disparate things together

@lucaorio @nikivi @neauoire Really nice! Here's my Pok3r with Clears. I've switched the caps lock and control key to mirror the HHKB, my dream keyboard.

I've programmed a handful of shortcuts in, like moving arrows to FN + WASD, moving the media keys to the number row, and a few extras.

@ian @nikivi @neauoire I got so fixated in learning the Pok3r mapping that I've never thought of moving all the media keys to the number row! Haha Thanks for the idea! :)

I think I will never get used to the arrows in other positions, though... I've already tried many times.

@gaeel I love this setup! :)

Which modifiers did you put on the left? I see 5 keys. I'd love to keep four to match the regular Apple's layout.

When I can't use my mech, it's a bit of a pain to retrain muscle memory on the go haha

@nikivi @neauoire

I don't have a single place where I customize my shortcuts, but I'm trying to come up with some sort of system :)

Only programmed layer on the mech is for Italian language. I also changed all-caps to fn, and right modifiers to arrow keys!

@nikivi @neauoire

I'm using a backlit Pok3r (Cherry MX Red)! DSA/PBT keycaps, 40A-L O-Rings (but I'll try the 40A-R soon).

I can't wait to try some new mechanical, low profile config. I used to love Apple's butterfly keyboards too, but bottoming out on such short travel eventually started to disintegrate my tendons :(

I don’t know how this happened, but I marked myself as out of office for the next few years. An INNOCENT mistake, now part of my team’s calendar 🤣

I have started to rethink and classify all my custom shortcuts.

It took me one hour to analyze and remap just the windows and layout's ones: they are now *all* triggered by the ctrl modifier.

It is a lot of work, but it will pay off! ⌨️

Don't ask me why (...😅), but I had to write a small Sketch Plugin to wipe the fill from every layer part of a document. Now, I'm about to launch it and iterate on 8200 layers. Wish me luck. 🤞🤣

HA! I reset my .chunkwmrc to start from scratch, and I can now split on a third column. YAY! 🎉

And here are some other images, grabbed straight from Alfred preferences, and other settings I've changed.

Alfred users! 👒 For whoever is interested, here's a link to install a theme I made - Nero (2019): alfredapp.com/extras/theme/ggl

Here's how it looks in my all-black environment 😊
